The Association des Rêveurs (formerly ‘La Compagnie des Rêveurs asbl’) was born from the initiative of Fabien Franchitti with a desire to offer accessible, entertaining and educational theatre. At the pace of public and school performances, the company’s multidisciplinary creations (theatre, music, circus, visual and plastic arts, etc.) were aimed at a very broad and popular audience from 2 to 129 years old.
After more than ten years of existence, in 2015, La Compagnie des Rêveurs became a non-profit association whose aim was to disseminate culture by all possible means. We managed the entire production and distribution of our shows, allowing us to significantly reduce general costs. For example, recovery and recycling allow us to save almost 70% on the production budget of a show. This allows us to then ensure artists and technicians an honorable and ethical salary for the performances. We were also involved in the production, organization or artistic direction of external creations by offering voluntary support to other artistic companies and non-profit organizations.
Until now, we had mainly toured in schools or rented a theater to do public and school performances. As soon as we had the opportunity (for example, a room rented by the day for school performances) we did free public performances in the evening with free entry for everyone, the initiative was also carried out with public social assistance centers.
It is with this objective of exchange and sharing that we have evolved and generated around our projects the support of partners such as Tour et Taxis who for two years provided us with a space for the construction of our sets and rehearsals. Companies and individuals who give us paint, materials, furniture, objects, hi-fi, media, etc. or provide us with their support for the construction of sets, costumes or to ensure ticketing during performances.
We also work with the Alternative Judicial Measures Supervision Service to support young people and/or adults in difficulty and give them a glimpse of other possibilities for the future through our artistic creations.
In 2018, she opened her first space at a free price: La Station des Rêveurs. This allows her to diversify and open up the social field of her activities. She then intervenes in schools for decorative and educational renovations, the creation of workshops with retirement homes, or even voluntary support for associations. She will offer more than a hundred residences to Belgian and other companies. She will support the creation of several associations.
In 2022, La Station closes for building security reasons, but remains usable for the workshop/storage part.
In 2022, she adds to her objectives to work on several projects related to foster families, children in care and the homeless.
In 2024, it becomes "L'Association des Rêveurs" and works with SNCB for the creation of new STATIONS DES RÊVEURS for all!
For 2025, it undertakes the setting up of homes for children placed today in hospitals due to lack of space.
See you soon for the rest...
